History
The Club was founded in 1975 with a clear vocation to become a benchmark in Spanish golf, combining design, nature and top-level competition. Five decades later, we can proudly say that we are one of the golf clubs with the greatest history and prestige in the Valencian Community and in Spain.
Host venue for major international tournaments
Throughout our history, we have hosted important professional events, consolidating our prestige within Spanish and European golf. Among the most notable tournaments are: the El Bosque Open (1990), a European Tour event won by Vijay Singh; the Benson & Hedges Trophy (1990), the first European mixed professional tournament, won by the pairing of José María Cañizares and Tania Abitbol; and the Open Mediterránea (1992), also part of the European Tour, won by José María Olazábal.
These events placed us firmly on the international map and strengthened our reputation as one of Spain’s classic golf courses.
Evolution, Renewal and Commitment to Excellence
True to our spirit of continuous improvement, we have carried out a number of modernisation projects over the years. Between 2019 and 2021, we undertook a comprehensive renovation of the course, including upgrades to bunkers, drainage, pathways and irrigation systems, bringing the course up to current standards while preserving the essence of its original design.
Overcoming Challenges and Looking to the Future
Following the significant damage caused by the 2024 DANA, we faced one of the greatest challenges in our history. Thanks to the dedication of our team and members, after nine months of intensive work, the course reopened in August 2025.
Just one month after reopening, we celebrated our 50th anniversary, marking half a century of history closely linked to golf, sport and the community.
Today we remain a leading institution where tradition, competition and a passion for golf come together to offer a truly unique experience for both members and visitors.
