Iván Lara was born the 10th Septiembre of 1984 in Valencia. Encouraged by his father's love for golf and his brother's ability, he started to play at the Golf Club of Manises at the age of 8.

As an amateur, he reached a high level of play, which led him to form part of national teams as well as the ones of the Valencian Federation, winning important titles at both individual team levels.

In 2003 he became professional, combining currently his functions as a teacher at El Bosque Golf Club conwith competition at the Peugeot Alps Tour circuit.
